Walking in the Spirit

Examine the Scriptures daily

Act 17:11 Now these [Jews] were better disposed and more noble than those in Thessalonica, for they were entirely ready and accepted and welcomed the message [concerning the attainment through Christ of eternal salvation in the kingdom of God] with inclination of mind and eagerness, searching and examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

 

  • Daily bible study (Books / Topic)

  • Daily prayers of all kinds

Holy - Set apart life

Eph 1:4  Even as [in His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love. 15  But as the One Who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all your conduct and manner of living. 16  For it is written, You shall be holy, for I am holy. [Lev. 11:44, 45.]

 

  • You were bought – you do not belong to yourself

  • You can not act like the world

  • You no longer value what the world value

  • You purify yourself of all worldliness

  • You have your mind set on Heavenly things

  • Your treasure is in Heaven

  • Serve no other gods – TV, Sleep, comfort, church, work

  • Without holiness no one will see the Lord

Taking your Cross daily

Luke 14:26  If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his [own] father and mother [in the sense of indifference to or relative disregard for them in comparison with his attitude toward God] and [likewise] his wife and children and brothers and sisters--[yes] and even his own life also--he cannot be My disciple. 27  Whoever does not persevere and carry his own cross and come after (follow) Me cannot be My disciple.

 

  • Love nothing more than Jesus

  • Follow Jesus – Do what Jesus has been doing

  • Take up your cross daily

  • Your cross = That which is difficult for you to do to follow Jesus / We could lose friends / Give up dreams

  • Deny yourself – We must learn to die to our own selfishness – Put other’ needs above ourselves

  • Give up all you have – What is too difficult to give up?

  • Save you Earthly life loose Eternal life

  • Acknowledge Him before men – Not to be ashamed of what I believe

Living by Faith

Prov 3:5  Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. 6  In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.

 

  • We must learn to trust God when we do things

  • Trust God first – do not resort first to trying to resolve the situation yourself first

  • The Logical answer is not always the right answer

  • God is faithful – He is always on time

  • Do not be hasty to do things – Ask God before you make the decisions

 

Heb 10:38  But the just shall live by faith [My righteous servant shall live by his conviction respecting man's relationship to God and divine things, and holy fervor born of faith and conjoined with it]; and if he draws back and shrinks in fear, My soul has no delight or pleasure in him. [Hab. 2:3, 4.] 39  But our way is not that of those who draw back to eternal misery (perdition) and are utterly destroyed, but we are of those who believe [who cleave to and trust in and rely on God through Jesus Christ, the Messiah] and by faith preserve the soul.

 

  • Seeing the invisible

  • Mustard seed – Quickly put the word in action in our lives

  • I no longer live – Living by faith

  • Trust in God not your own understanding

  • Trust not in logical but the guidance of the Spirit

  • Do everything out of faith / personal conviction

Run the race set before you

1Cor 9:24  Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but [only] one receives the prize? So run [your race] that you may lay hold [of the prize] and make it yours. 25  Now every athlete who goes into training conducts himself temperately and restricts himself in all things. They do it to win a wreath that will soon wither, but we [do it to receive a crown of eternal blessedness] that cannot wither.

 

  • You can not compare with another’s ministry

  • God has a specific plan for your life

  • Do not be critical

  • Do not judge what you do not understand

  • We must go in to strict training – We must be a bit more strict on ourselves

  • Do what is needed to grow / to change

Remain in the Love of God

John 15:5  I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing. 6  If a person does not dwell in Me, he is thrown out like a [broken-off] branch, and withers; such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, and they are burned. 7  If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you. 9  I have loved you, [just] as the Father has loved Me; abide in My love [continue in His love with Me]. 10  If you keep My commandments [if you continue to obey My instructions], you will abide in My love and live on in it, just as I have obeyed My Father's commandments and live on in His love. 11  I have told you these things, that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy and gladness may be of full measure and complete and overflowing. 12  This is My commandment: that you love one another [just] as I have loved you.

 

  • The Love of God vs. Man’s love

  • Unconditional love – God’s love never change – It is a constant

  • Not proud / Rude / Keep a record of wrongs

  • Doing all in love

  • Love is not weakness

  • Love is not an emotion, but must also be expressed

  • God loves us so much He came to die for us

  • Abide in Jesus’ commands – Love one another

Daily Deliverance

  • Daily Forgiveness of others / self / God?

  • Forgiveness is a life style

  • Sin – Only to miss the mark

  • Are you a slave of something?

  • Don’t live in condemnation – God’s forgiveness is complete and immediate

  • Do not return like a dog to his vomit

  • When you realize you have a problem – find the truth in God’s word – change your mind & heart about it and move on

  • Do not be discouraged when you see mistakes in your live – God knew it all along and yet He still loved you

Praying in the Spirit

Rom 8:26 – Tongues = Praying in the Spirit

 

  • Building up your spirit

  • Coming into the will of God

  • The Spirit is interceding for us

  • Preparing your future

  • Warfare in the Spirit

Consistently Righteousness

Isa 26:7  The way of the [consistently] righteous (those living in moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relationship of their lives) is level and straight; You, O [Lord], Who are upright, direct aright and make level the path of the [uncompromisingly] just and righteous. 8  Yes, in the path of Your judgments, O Lord, we wait [expectantly] for You; our heartfelt desire is for Your name and for the remembrance of You. 9  My soul yearns for You [O Lord] in the night, yes, my spirit within me seeks You earnestly; for [only] when Your judgments are in the earth will the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God).

​

Pro 15:29  The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the [consistently] righteous (the upright, in right standing with Him).

 

Jas 5:15  And the prayer [that is] of faith will save him who is sick, and the Lord will restore him; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16  Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

 

  • The consistently righteous’ path is level

  • Prayer of the Righteous = Powerful

  • Many blessings for the righteous only

  • We must grow up spiritually and stop saying it can’t be done – It can not be done in human strength

  • Exercise you spiritual senses

  • Learn to distinguish between God’s Voice / Your desire / Satan’s voice

  • Obey that which the Holy Spirit ask of you to do

  • Learn to abide – See Intercession

Children of light

1John 1:7  But if we [really] are living and walking in the Light, as He [Himself] is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses (removes) us from all sin and guilt [keeps us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations]. 8  If we say we have no sin [refusing to admit that we are sinners], we delude and lead ourselves astray, and the Truth [which the Gospel presents] is not in us [does not dwell in our hearts]. 9  If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action]. 10  If we say (claim) we have not sinned, we contradict His Word and make Him out to be false and a liar, and His Word is not in us [the divine message of the Gospel is not in our hearts].

 

  • We must remain in the light

  • We must be an open book with nothing to hide before God and man

  • We will sin again

  • We must confession our sins to God and a trustworthy man / women

  • Then this will restore fellowship with the Holy Spirit and with our fellow men

Being led by the Spirit of God

Rom 8:13  For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever. 14  For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15  For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!

 

2Cor 10:3 For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds, 5  [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One),

 

  • We must test every thought whether it is from God

  • We have many theories, but must test them by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God

  • We will quickly be able to see what is not from God by its fruits

  • To be led by the Spirit is to operate in the opposite spirit

  • Put the thoughts to death by comparing them with the Word of God

  • Take all thoughts and arguments and turn them to the truth about God, the Holy Spirit do not believe the lie

  • Satan is a liar, murder and a thief. He is coming to destroy your life with half truths

Spiritual Warfare

Eph 6:10  In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]. 11 Put on God's whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. 12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. 13  Therefore put on God's complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].14 Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God, 15  And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace. [Isa. 52:7.] 16  Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one]. 17  And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God. 18  Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God's consecrated people).

 

  • Spiritual warfare is a lifestyle

  • The Weapons of Righteousness – Remain in God’s love and in His Righteousness

  • Stand in Christ – Satan will try until he sees he cannot cause you to sin

  • Helmet of Salvation – Saved by the Blood of Jesus Christ

  • Sword of Spirit – All ‘Word’ living in you

  • Shield of Faith – Protection / Provision / Seeing the answer is coming / Trusting in God / Believing the promises

  • Breastplate of Righteousness – Not my efforts but Jesus’ price on the cross / Do not become guilty when you sin – You are loved

  • Feet shod with shoes – Always be ready and prepared for a godly answer

  • Praying in the Spirit – Praying in tongues

Fellowship with the Holy Spirit

Isa 30:18  And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship]! [John 14:3, 27; II Cor. 12:9; Heb. 12:2; I John 3:16; Rev. 3:5.]

 

  • God is the Holy Spirit

  • To know Jesus = to Know the Holy Spirit

  • God is always drawing you towards Himself like Groom His Bride

  • You can draw the presence of God to you

  • Or you can repel the Presence of God

  • Learn to be sensitive and humble

  • Build yourself up in the Spirit by praying in the Spirit

A Love Relationship

Jer 31:3 The Lord appeared from of old to me [Israel], saying, Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you. [Deut. 7:8.] 4 Again I will build you and you will be built, O Virgin Israel! You will again be adorned with your timbrels [small one-headed drums] and go forth in the dancing [chorus] of those who make merry. [Isa. 37:22; Jer. 18:13.] 5 Again you shall plant vineyards upon the mountains of Samaria; the planters shall plant and make the fruit common and enjoy it [undisturbed].

 

Rev 2:3  I know you are enduring patiently and are bearing up for My name's sake, and you have not fainted or become exhausted or grown weary. 4  But I have this [one charge to make] against you: that you have left (abandoned) the love that you had at first [you have deserted Me, your first love]. 5  Remember then from what heights you have fallen. Repent (change the inner man to meet God's will) and do the works you did previously [when first you knew the Lord], or else I will visit you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you change your mind and repent.

 

Rom 8:31  What then shall we say to [all] this? If God is for us, who [can be] against us? [Who can be our foe, if God is on our side?] [Ps. 118:6.] 32  He who did not withhold or spare [even] His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely and graciously give us all [other] things? 33  Who shall bring any charge against God's elect [when it is] God Who justifies [that is, Who puts us in right relation to Himself? Who shall come forward and accuse or impeach those whom God has chosen? Will God, Who acquits us?] 34 Who is there to condemn [us]? Will Christ Jesus (the Messiah), Who died, or rather Who was raised from the dead, Who is at the right hand of God actually pleading as He intercedes for us? 35 Who shall ever separate us from Christ's love?

 

  • God’s Love for you is real – He really loves you

  • Accept His love and return to your First Love

  • Do not fall/believe the lies of the enemy about God

  • Know your value before the Father

  • Believe in and know the Love of God for you

  • Know that God is 100% for you

  • God will never leave you or forsake you

  • God will never let you be ashamed if you trust in Him

  • Enjoy your relationship with the Holy Spirit

Live up to what you have attained

Php 3:13 I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward. 15 So let those [of us] who are spiritually mature and full-grown have this mind and hold these convictions; and if in any respect you have a different attitude of mind, God will make that clear to you also. 16  Only let us hold true to what we have already attained and walk and order our lives by that

 

  • After 30 years Paul is still striving to arrive at the perfect and mature man

  • We must forget the past, not allowing it to drag us down or in guilt or feelings of failure

  • The Spiritually mature will have such a mind set

  • That which I have made my own

  • That which have had a personal experience with the Holy Spirit

  • That which I have become convinced of in the Word of God

  • God knows at what point you are still not perfect and will lead you to His plan to mature you

  • We might differ in opinion and experience but should learn from one another and grow more

Prove all things and keep what is good

1Thess 5:19  Do not quench (suppress or subdue) the [Holy] Spirit; 20  Do not spurn the gifts and utterances of the prophets [do not depreciate prophetic revelations nor despise inspired instruction or exhortation or warning]. 21  But test and prove all things [until you can recognize] what is good; [to that] hold fast. 22 Abstain from evil [shrink from it and keep aloof from it] in whatever form or whatever kind it may be. 3 And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [separate you from profane things, make you pure and wholly consecrated to God]; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah). 24 Faithful is He Who is calling you [to Himself] and utterly trustworthy, and He will also do it [fulfill His call by hallowing and keeping you].

 

  • Prove all things

  • Do not despise prophecy

  • Eat the chicken spit out the bones

  • Do not make an idol out of a man’s revelation

  • Do not make an idol or say to fast this is it!

  • Test all things with the scriptures and by the Word

  • We all only have a part of the puzzle

  • Grow to maturity in Christ – Speak the truth in Love

  • Be humble about what you think is right and the ultimate revelation

The Anointing

1John 2:26  I write this to you with reference to those who would deceive you [seduce and lead you astray]. 27  But as for you, the anointing (the sacred appointment, the unction) which you received from Him abides [permanently] in you; [so] then you have no need that anyone should instruct you. But just as His anointing teaches you concerning everything and is true and is no falsehood, so you must abide in (live in, never depart from) Him [being rooted in Him, knit to Him], just as [His anointing] has taught you [to do]. 28  And now, little children, abide (live, remain permanently) in Him, so that when He is made visible, we may have and enjoy perfect confidence (boldness, assurance) and not be ashamed and shrink from Him at His coming.

 

  • Live and stay continually in these truths which God had revealed to you in His Word since we started

  • When we get to know the Anointing He will teach us

  • He will also lead us not to get deceived

  • Whatever we do – do not allow the Devil / Satan to steal the Love of God out of your heart by lies

  • Abide – Remain in Him

  • Remain in His love

  • Remain in His Righteousness

  • This will lead you to His holiness

Live and walk in the Spirit of Jesus

Rom 8:1 THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit. [John 3:18.]

Rom 8:4  So that the righteous and just requirement of the Law might be fully met in us who live and move not in the ways of the flesh but in the ways of the Spirit [our lives governed not by the standards and according to the dictates of the flesh, but controlled by the Holy Spirit]. 5  For those who are according to the flesh and are controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on and pursue those things which gratify the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit and are controlled by the desires of the Spirit set their minds on and seek those things which gratify the [Holy] Spirit.

 

  • To Please the Holy Spirit is to please God

  • We must not live in the lie of self-condemnation anymore

  • We must walk as Jesus would walk and live

  • To remain in the Love of God is to live according to the Spirit of God

  • To be controlled by the Spirit is to live in the Fruit of the Holy Spirit

  • When we do this the Spirit of God will change us from within and help us to overcome our sins and weaknesses

  • He will continually deliver us until the enemy can find no more hold in our lives

  • Then we have true authority in Christ

Practical

Living in the Spirit is a lifestyle which must be practiced daily

  • We must learn to take every though captive to make it obedient to the truth of God's love revealed through the righteousness which Jesus Christ has provided - we become slaves of of God's righteousness! 

  • Learn to cultivate the practice of  of the Presence of God

Discipline yourself to make time of spending time with God daily

  • Learn to listen to God as well speak openly and sincerely with God
