The First and the Last

The Prophet Isaiah

I am He

Isa 41:4  Who has prepared and done this, calling forth and guiding the destinies of the generations [of the nations] from the beginning? I, the Lord - the first [existing before history began] and with the last [an ever-present, unchanging God] - I am He.

  • God told the prophet Isaiah that He is the First and the Last

I am the first and the Last

Isa 44:6-8 Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: I am the First and I am the Last; besides Me there is no God. [Rev. 1:17; 2:8; 22:13.] 7  Who is like Me? Let him [stand and] proclaim it, declare it, and set [his proofs] in order before Me, since I made and established the people of antiquity. [Who has announced from of old] the things that are coming? Then let them declare yet future things. 8  Fear not, nor be afraid [in the coming violent upheavals]; have I not told it to you from of old and declared it? And you are My witnesses! Is there a God besides Me? There is no [other] Rock; I know not any.

  • Here the prophet Isaiah says

    • that God is the King of Israel and the He is there Redeemer

    • that He is the Lord of hosts

    • that He is the First and the Last

    • God is very adamant that there is NO other God besides Him

    • God knows the future

    • God is seeking witnesses who will declare that ONLY He is God and that there is NONE other

You are My Witnesses

On the May 9, 2001, I had a powerful encounter with the God of the Old Testament who revealed Himself to me:

Led by the Holy Spirit, while I was praying in tongues, the Holy Spirit revealed to me the interpretation of what I was saying. As I was praying in tongues the Holy Spirit gave me the interpretation of tongue, saying: “Lord write your Name in Heaven so that Pretoria may know Jesus is God!” When I said the Name Jesus in my mind I heard the Word: Yahshua, while speaking in tongues! Immediately I knew that this was the Name of Jesus in Hebrew!

30 Minutes later that, which the Holy Spirit, through me, prayed, came to pass. God appeared to me through mighty signs in the heavens! Instigated by the Holy Spirit, He told me to look up into the sky. When I looked I saw a large sign of a “J” that appeared in the heavens or in the sky, God using the clouds to confirm His Word!

While I was looking, a sign of a Man, standing on a pedestal on the “J” appeared to me. Then He spoke in my spirit and said to me: “Come follow Me. I will make you fishers of men. I will make My Eye your eyes that you may see what I see. I will put Words in your mouth. I will give you The Key. I will send you to all nations in this generation before the end come. And you will call down fire from heaven on this earth before the end comes. This will be the sign that I have spoken to you. You will meet Me on this mountain!

While and at the same time, He was saying these things, signs appeared in front of me in the heavens! When He said to me: “I will make My Eye your eyes that you may see what I see!” A single sign of a pair of eyes appeared in the heavens. When He said to me: “I will put Words in your mouth.” A sign of lips appeared in front of me in the heavens. When He said to me: “I will give you The Key.” A sign of a large key appeared in the heavens!

Many other signs also appeared to me since that time confirming many things that was prophesied by all the prophets regards those things that will come to pass at the time of the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • For the purpose of this discussion I want to re-confirm what the Holy Spirit had prayed through me: Write you NAME in heaven, that Pretoria can know that Jesus is God

I will not give My glory to another

Isa 48:11-13 For My own sake, for My own sake, I do it [I refrain and do not utterly destroy you]; for why should I permit My name to be polluted and profaned [which it would be if the Lord completely destroyed His chosen people]? And I will not give My glory to another [by permitting the worshipers of idols to triumph over you]. 12  Listen to Me, O Jacob, and Israel, My called [ones]: I am He; I am the First, I also am the Last. [Isa. 41:4.] 13  Yes, My hand has laid the foundation of the earth, and My right hand has spread out the heavens; when I call to them, they stand forth together [to execute My decrees].

  • God declares that He will not give His glory to another god or idol

    • He will not allow His Name to be defamed and blasphemed

  • Who declares that He is the First and the Last?

    • God declares through the prophet Isaiah that HE is the First and the Last

  • God gets very personal in declaring that IT is Himself who is the First and the Last

  • God qualifies that it was Himself who laid the foundations of the earth and created all things

    • God said that He did this through His own Right-hand

One Lord our GOD

The God of Israel

This is My name forever, and by this name I am to be remembered to all generations.

  • God’s name is not I am who I am!

  • God said His Name is: “I AM”

  • I AM = YAH

  • This is the Name by which God want to be known throughout all the generations

[Isa. 9:6, 7; Dan. 2:44.]

  • And listen! You will become pregnant and will give birth to a Son,

    • and you shall call His name Jesus.

      • The Name Jesus was a Greek name that came with translation

      • The Jews today call him Yeshua

        • This is a misrepresentation of the pronunciation of His Name

  • In the Law of Moses God said:

    • Exo 20:3-7 You shall have no other gods before or besides Me. 4 You shall not make yourself any graven image [to worship it] or any likeness of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 5 You shall not bow down yourself to them or serve them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me, [Isa. 42:8; Isa. 48:11] 6 But showing mercy and steadfast love to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commandments. 7 You shall not use or repeat the name of the Lord your God in vain [that is, lightly or frivolously, in false affirmations or profanely]; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.

Col 1:15-19  [Now] He is the exact likeness of the unseen God [the visible representation of the invisible]; He is the Firstborn of all creation. 16  For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions, rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [by His service, intervention] and in and for Him. 17  And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together). [Prov. 8:22-31.] 18  He also is the Head of [His] body, the church; seeing He is the Beginning, the Firstborn from among the dead, so that He alone in everything and in every respect might occupy the chief place [stand first and be preeminent]. 19  For it has pleased [the Father] that all the divine fullness (the sum total of the divine perfection, powers, and attributes) should dwell in Him permanently.

[Isa. 40:5.] 15  John testified about Him and cried out, This was He of Whom I said, He Who comes after me has priority over me, for He was before me. the Arm of God – the Servant of God

Isa 53:1-3  WHO HAS believed (trusted in, relied upon, and clung to) our message [of that which was revealed to us]? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been disclosed? [John 12:38-41; Rom. 10:16.] 2  For [the Servant of God] grew up before Him like a tender plant, and like a root out of dry ground; He has no form or comeliness [royal, kingly pomp], that we should look at Him, and no beauty that we should desire Him. 3 He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men, a Man of sorrows and pains, and acquainted with grief and sickness; and like One from Whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or have any esteem for Him.

  • WHO HAS believed (trusted in, relied upon, and clung to) our message [of that which was revealed to us]?

    • The prophet asked a question and nearly make a challenge, asking who has actually believed His message?

      • Do you believe the Word of God through the Old Testament prophets?

      • What message does the prophet want the reader to believe? Look at the next verse!

  • And to whom has the arm of the Lord been disclosed? [John 12:38-41; Rom. 10:16.]

    • The prophet continue to ask another question, which related with the former question

    • The message he has been sent to give, also links with this next question:

      • Has it been revealed to you who or what the ARM of the LORD is?

        • The arm of a person is part of the person

        • An arm is only an extension of that person giving Him ability to things

      • The Arm of God is the ability or power of God to do things

      • How did God create or make all things? By His Word

      • Thus the Word of God is His arm or power and ability to do things

    • For

      • Now the prophet begins to answer the question which he, by the Holy Spirit, was told to ask

      • FOR – means, this is the reason why…I asked these questions

    • He [the Servant of God] grew up before Him like a tender plant, and like a root out of dry ground;

      • He – was interpreted immediately as the Servant of the Lord

      • Who is He of the Servant of the LORD?

        • Thus what is the message we must believe?

        • Thus what is the arm of the LORD?

      • Who was like a tender plant or root out of dry ground?

    • He has no form or comeliness [royal, kingly pomp], that we should look at Him,

      • The prophet actually prophecy, using a riddle that hides and reveals certain revelations

      • The prophet continues to answer these seemingly loose standing questions

      • The prophet continue to refer to a person saying: “He!”

    • and no beauty that we should desire Him.

    • He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men,

    • a Man of sorrows and pains, and acquainted with grief and sickness;

    • and like One from Whom men hide their faces He was despised,

    • and we did not appreciate His worth or have any esteem for Him.

      • The prophet makes it very clear that he is referring to a male person!

      • We now know this refers to how Jesus Christ paid for our salvation, deliverance and healing

      • Who then is the Arm of God? Jesus Christ

      • Jesus is NOT another God or person in the Trinity, but only an extension of the ability of God through which God created all things

God’s own arm did it

Isa 59:15-17  Yes, truth is lacking, and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. And the Lord saw it, and it displeased Him that there was no justice. 16  And He saw that there was no man and wondered that there was no intercessor [no one to intervene on behalf of truth and right]; therefore His own arm brought Him victory, and His own righteousness [having the Spirit without measure] sustained Him. [Isa. 53:11; Col. 2:9; I John 2:1, 2.] 17  For [the Lord] put on righteousness as a breastplate or coat of mail, and salvation as a helmet upon His head; He put on garments of vengeance for clothing and was clad with zeal [and furious divine jealousy] as a cloak. [Eph. 6:14, 17; I Thess. 5:8.]

  • Yes, truth is lacking, and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.

  • And the Lord saw it, and it displeased Him that there was no justice.

    • God was displeased with sin, but He was not only displeased only with sin

    • God was displeased with the fact that there was no justice for the oppressed in sin

  • And He saw that there was no man and wondered that there was no intercessor

    • God was also displease that there was no man who could bring this justice

    • God could not find some man who could intervene between God and man

    • God wanted a righteous man to intercede, to go between Him and man, like Moses did, but found no one on earth to do it

    •  [no one to intervene on behalf of truth and right];

      • therefore His own arm brought Him victory,

        • God decided to come Himself– His own Arm

        • Because God could find no man, He decided to come Himself and bring victory

        • God brought justice against the oppressed by His own arm

        • It was NOT another God in the Godhead who did it, but God Himself who did it

      • and His own righteousness [having the Spirit without measure] sustained Him.

        • Since God could find no perfectly righteous man.

        • He brought the breakthrough through His own Righteousness

        • Here the arm of God is His own personal Righteousness

      • [Isa. 53:11; Col. 2:9; I John 2:1, 2.]

  • For [the Lord] put on

    • righteousness as a breastplate or coat of mail,

    • and salvation as a helmet upon His head;

      • The Lord put on the weapons of warfare and came to save us Himself

      • God put on the amour of salvation and accomplished salvation by His own Righteousness

      • Thus Jesus is the perfect Righteousness of God, the arm of God through which He brought salvation from oppression under sin

    • He put on garments of vengeance for clothing and

    • was clad with zeal [and furious divine jealousy] as a cloak.

    • [Eph. 6:14, 17; I Thess. 5:8.]

God prepared a body for Himself

Heb 10:5-7  Hence, when He [Christ] entered into the world, He said, Sacrifices and offerings You have not desired, but instead You have made ready a body for Me [to offer]; 6  In burnt offerings and sin offerings You have taken no delight. 7  Then I said, Behold, here I am, coming to do Your will, O God--[to fulfill] what is written of Me in the volume of the Book. [Ps. 40:6-8.]

  • Hence, when

    • He [Christ] entered into the world,

    • He said, Sacrifices and offerings You have not desired,

      • Sacrifices and offerings were given by people to be atoned for their sins and to please God

      • These sacrifices could not please God, because they came through imperfect fallen man

      • but instead You have made ready a body for Me [to offer];

        • God is Spirit and never had a body

        • But a body was prepared for Him 10 generations back before Jesus could be born from Mary

        • Since God could not come as a Spirit, He had to come as a Man

        • The sacrifices was only instituted as offerings until a perfect man could offer Himself to free man from sin and perfectly please God the Father again

        • Since man sinned it would take a man to come and bring righteousness

    • In burnt offerings and sin offerings You have taken no delight.

    • Then I said,

      • Behold, here I am, coming to do Your will, O God—

        • All the prophets prophesied that God would come to save His people

        • Then Jesus came to do the will of the Father

        • Jesus perfectly pleased God the Father

        • God, in His love, was pleased to reveal Himself in and through Jesus Christ

      •  [to fulfill] what is written of Me in the volume of the Book. [Ps. 40:6-8.]

        • It was prophesied that a Messiah or Saviour would come to save the people

        • God has always promised that He Himself would save Israel

I AM

Abraham saw Jesus’ Day

John 8:54-59  Jesus answered, If I were to glorify Myself (magnify, praise, and honor Myself), I would have no real glory, for My glory would be nothing and worthless. [My honor must come to Me from My Father.] It is My Father Who glorifies Me [Who extols Me, magnifies, and praises Me], of Whom you say that He is your God. 55  Yet you do not know Him or recognize Him and are not acquainted with Him, but I know Him. If I should say that I do not know Him, I would be a liar like you. But I know Him and keep His word [obey His teachings, am faithful to His message]. 56  Your forefather Abraham was extremely happy at the hope and prospect of seeing My day (My incarnation); and he did see it and was delighted. [Heb. 11:13.] 57  Then the Jews said to Him, You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham? 58  Jesus replied, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, before Abraham was born, I AM. [Exod. 3:14.] 59  So they took up stones to throw at Him, but Jesus, by mixing with the crowd, concealed Himself and went out of the temple [enclosure].

  • Jesus answered, If I were to glorify Myself (magnify, praise, and honor Myself),

  • I would have no real glory, for My glory would be nothing and worthless. [My honor must come to Me from My Father.]

  • It is My Father Who glorifies Me [Who extols Me, magnifies, and praises Me], of Whom you say that He is your God.

  • Yet you do not know Him or recognize Him and are not acquainted with Him,

    • but I know Him.

  • If I should say that I do not know Him, I would be a liar like you.

    • But I know Him and keep His word [obey His teachings, am faithful to His message].

  • Your forefather Abraham was extremely happy at the hope and prospect of seeing My day (My incarnation);

    • Abraham saw Jesus’ day and was greatly looking forward to that day

    • Abraham once had an encounter with God who came to visit Him with two angels

      • Abraham saw God is the flesh – Jesus Christ

      • Many said it was the Godhead / Trinity that visited Abraham, but it was not

      • The two angels went to Sodom and Gomorrah to destroy it and God stayed behind

    • Abraham also had an encounter with the High Priest Melchizadeck

      • Once again Abraham encountered God in the flesh in the function as a Priest

    • and he did see it and was delighted. [Heb. 11:13.]

  • Then the Jews said to Him, You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?

  • Jesus replied, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, before Abraham was born, I AM. [Exod. 3:14.]

    • Jesus used the shortened Name God gave to Moses in the desert saying: I AM

    • Jesus directly said that He was I AM

    • Jesus made Himself NOT equal with God, but said that He IS the ‘I AM’

  • So they took up stones to throw at Him,

    • To make yourself equal to God was one thing, but to say you ARE God was blaspheme

    • Blaspheme was punishable by death through stoning

    • but Jesus, by mixing with the crowd, concealed Himself and went out of the temple [enclosure].

Show us the Father

John 14:5-11 Thomas said to Him, Lord, we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way? 6  Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me. 7  If you had known Me [had learned to recognize Me], you would also have known My Father. From now on, you know Him and have seen Him. 8  Philip said to Him, Lord, show us the Father [cause us to see the Father, that is all we ask]; then we shall be satisfied. 9  Jesus replied, Have I been with all of you for so long a time, and do you not recognize and know Me yet, Philip? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say then, Show us the Father? 10  Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in Me? What I am telling you I do not say on My own authority and of My own accord; but the Father Who lives continually in Me does the (His) works (His own miracles, deeds of power). 11  Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me; or else believe Me for the sake of the [very] works themselves. [If you cannot trust Me, at least let these works that I do in My Father's name convince you.]

  • Thomas said to Him, Lord, we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way?

  • Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life;

    • no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me.

      • There is no other way to come to God accept through Jesus Christ

      • The 271 Principle Dream

    • If you had known Me [had learned to recognize Me], you would also have known My Father.

      • We must learn to know, be acquainted with the character nature of Jesus Christ

      • Only once when we know Jesus Christ will we be able to truly know God the Father

      • To Know Jesus is to know the Father

    • From now on, you know Him and have seen Him.

      • Not only did the disciples now know God the Father, but have even seen Him

      • Jesus is the perfect image of God the Father

      • Jesus came to show us the Father

      • To know the Father is to know God

  • Philip said to Him, Lord, show us the Father

    • [cause us to see the Father, that is all we ask]; then we shall be satisfied.

      • Even Phillip could not grasp what Jesus was trying to say to them

      • People struggle to believe what Jesus was trying to tell His disciples

  • Jesus replied,

    • Have I been with all of you for so long a time, and do you not recognize and know Me yet, Philip?

      • Jesus spoke to Phillip in a very personal way revealing the Father to Him

      • Phillip has just asked Jesus to SHOW them the Father, when Jesus answered in this very personal way

      • It was as if the Father in Jesus answered Phillip asking him whether he does not recognize Him

    • Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father.

    • How can you say then, Show us the Father?

    • Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in Me?

      • There is not separation between Jesus and the Father – they are ONE!!!

    • What I am telling you I do not say on My own authority and of My own accord;

      • but the Father Who lives continually in Me does the (His) works (His own miracles, deeds of power).

      • God the Father was doing His works through the Son whom He had made to save the world

    • Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me;

      • Jesus is the Father doing His works of wonder on earth through a physical body

      • or else believe Me for the sake of the [very] works themselves.

    • [If you cannot trust Me, at least let these works that I do in My Father's name convince you.]

The Spirit of God

God is the Spirit

John 4:23-24  A time will come, however, indeed it is already here, when the true (genuine) worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth (reality); for the Father is seeking just such people as these as His worshipers. 24  God is a Spirit (a spiritual Being) and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (reality).

  • A time will come, however, indeed it is already here,

    • when the true (genuine) worshipers will

      • worship the Father in spirit and in truth (reality);

      • for the Father is seeking just such people as these as His worshipers.

    • God is a Spirit (a spiritual Being) and

    • God is Spirit – All things consists out of Him

    • God is not only Spirit, but God is the Spirit

    • those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (reality).

      • To worship God is to worship God in and through the Spirit and in truth

      • We must learn to think spirit and spiritual in order to worship God in a pleasing way

Another Comforter

John 14:16-20  And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counsellor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever. 17  The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you. 18  I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless]; I will come [back] to you. 19  Just a little while now, and the world will not see Me any more, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. 20  At that time [when that day comes] you will know [for yourselves] that I am in My Father, and you [are] in Me, and I [am] in you.

  • And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter

    • The Father is the One who gave His Spirit – the Other Comforter

    • Why is He another Councilor? Because He comes in a different form – in the Spirit

    • (Counsellor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby),

      • that He may remain with you forever.

    • The Spirit of Truth,

      • The Spirit of Truth is the Councilor

      • Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart),

        • We need to accept the Spirit of Truth into our hearts

      • because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him.

        • We must learn to recognize the Spirit by a person acquaintance and experience

      • But you know and recognize Him,

        • The disciples already knew the Spirit of Truth – How did they know Him?

        • for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.

          • Jesus told them why they already know the Spirit of Truth

          • He told them that He, the Spirit live with them, but He will then be in them

            • Who is now with them? Jesus Himself

            • Who will be in them? The Spirit of Truth

          • Jesus is saying that He, Jesus, is now with them in physical form, but will soon be in them, as the Spirit of Truth, in spiritual form

        • I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless];

        • I will come [back] to you.

          • Jesus makes it very clear that although He is going to leave them He, Himself is coming back to them

          • The Spirit is NOT another person in the Godhead

          • The Spirit of Truth is Jesus Christ living in man

          • The Spirit of Truth is the Spirit of the Father living in Jesus Christ

        • Just a little while now, and the world will not see Me any more,

          • Although Jesus is NOT going to be visible anymore

          • but you will see Me;

            • He will be visible to the disciples who know Him,

              • because He will be in them in the Spirit

          • We will no longer see Jesus, but the Spirit of God

        • because I live, you will live also.

          • Jesus now lives, in the form of the Spirit, in side of us.

          • Jesus’ Spirit inside of us gives us life

  • At that time [when that day comes] you will know [for yourselves]

    • Jesus said they will know by revelational experience what He meant when the time comes

    • They will not know by knowledge but by personal experience, tasting exactly what He meant

    • that I am in My Father, and you [are] in Me, and I [am] in you.

Jesus is Lord

John 20:24-28  But Thomas, one of the Twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came.  25  So the other disciples kept telling him, We have seen the Lord! But he said to them, Unless I see in His hands the marks made by the nails and put my finger into the nail prints, and put my hand into His side, I will never believe [it].  26  Eight days later His disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, though they were behind closed doors, and stood among them and said, Peace to you!  27  Then He said to Thomas, Reach out your finger here, and see My hands; and put out your hand and place [it] in My side. Do not be faithless and incredulous, but [stop your unbelief and] believe!  28  Thomas answered Him, My Lord and my God!

  • But Thomas, one of the Twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came.

  • So the other disciples kept telling him, We have seen the Lord!

  • But he said to them, Unless

    • I see in His hands the marks made by the nails

    • and put my finger into the nail prints,

    • and put my hand into His side,

    • I will never believe [it].

  • Eight days later His disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them.

  • Jesus came, though they were behind closed doors, and stood among them and said, Peace to you!

  • Then He said to Thomas,

    • Reach out your finger here, and see My hands;

    • and put out your hand and place [it] in My side.

    • Do not be faithless and incredulous, but [stop your unbelief and] believe!

  • Thomas answered Him, My Lord and my God!

    • Thomas had a very powerful revelation and realization about Jesus Christ

    • He realized that Jesus was not there when He made the statements above

    • But now Jesus came to Him and told Him exactly what He had said as if He was there among them

    • He realized that only the Spirit of God – God Himself is everywhere and knows all things

    • Suddenly Thomas made a very powerful statement when He realized these things about WHO Jesus Christ really is

    • Thomas called Him his Lord and His God

    • Jesus is God the Father in the physical form

The Apostle Thomas’ Revelation

Dreams

The Apostle Paul’s Revelation

Act 9:4-6  And he fell to the ground. Then he heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me [harassing, troubling, and molesting Me]? 5  And Saul said, Who are You, Lord? And He said, I am Jesus, Whom you are persecuting. It is dangerous and it will turn out badly for you to keep kicking against the goad [to offer vain and perilous resistance]. 6  Trembling and astonished he asked, Lord, what do You desire me to do? The Lord said to him, But arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.

  • And he fell to the ground. Then he heard a voice saying to him,

    • Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me [harassing, troubling, and molesting Me]?

    • Saul was a devote Jew who loved the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, but did not know Jesus

    • Very few understand who Saul of Taurus was in Jewish history

      • Saul was trained under Rabbi Gamaliel who was the head Rabbi in Jerusalem

      • Saul was his best and most zealous student

      • Saul was the next proponent for High Priest in Jerusalem

      • Saul knew the Law and the prophets and understood the prophecies eg. Isaiah

  • And Saul said, Who are You, Lord?

    • This entire conversation according to Paul, in his second defence before Felix, was in Hebrew

      • When Saul asked this question he is not asking who are you master?

      • He is asking who are you Elohim / God?

    • Saul is confused as to who is opposing his noble quest to persecute the disciples of Jesus called Christ

  • And He said, I am Jesus, Whom you are persecuting.

    • In Hebrew the voice would have said: “I am Yahshua whom you are persecuting!”

    • It is dangerous and it will turn out badly for you to keep kicking against the goad

    • [to offer vain and perilous resistance].

  • Trembling and astonished he asked, Lord, what do You desire me to do?

    • Why did Saul tremble? He realized he was opposing God

    • When now calls Yahshua LORD, he acknowledge that Jesus the Son of God is God Himself

    • Thus when we say Jesus is Lord we should mean two things:

      • We should accept that Jesus is God

      • Then accept that He is our master and His Word is all in our lives

    • The Lord said to him, But arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.

The Apostle Peter’s Revelation

Act 2:32-34  This Jesus God raised up, and of that all we [His disciples] are witnesses. 33  Being therefore lifted high by and to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promised [blessing which is the] Holy Spirit, He has made this outpouring which you yourselves both see and hear. 34  For David did not ascend into the heavens; yet he himself says, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand and share My throne. 36  Therefore let the whole house of Israel recognize beyond all doubt and acknowledge assuredly that God has made Him both Lord and Christ (the Messiah)-- this Jesus Whom you crucified.

  • This Jesus God raised up, and of that all we [His disciples] are witnesses.

  • Being therefore lifted high by and to the right hand of God,

    • and having received from the Father the promised [blessing which is the] Holy Spirit,

    • He has made this outpouring which you yourselves both see and hear.

      • God the Father, who is Spirit, gave the promise to all who acknowledge that Jesus is Lord

  • For David did not ascend into the heavens; yet he himself says,

    • The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand and share My throne.

      • Jesus the right hand of God was lifted back to Glory

    • Therefore let the whole house of Israel recognize beyond all doubt and acknowledge assuredly that

    • God has made Him

      • both Lord and Christ (the Messiah)—

        • Jesus in not only Christ or Saviour, but He is Lord and God

        • When we serve and worship Jesus Christ we worship the God of Heaven

        • Jesus Christ IS the God of heaven and earth

    • this Jesus Whom you crucified.

Every knee must bow to Jesus Christ

The Apostle Paul

Php 2:6-11  Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained, 7  But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being. 8  And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross! 9  Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, 10  That in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11  And every tongue [frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

  • Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God

    • Jesus was for all practical purpose essentially God and was God on the earth

    • [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God],

      • Everything that Jesus consisted of in character and nature was God

  • did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained,

    • Jesus did not think it was a small thing to be God on the earth

    • It was truly something the grasp and realize, that He was God in the flesh

    • But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity],

    • so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave),

    • in that He became like men and was born a human being.

    • And after He had appeared in human form,

    • He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and

      • carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!

  • Therefore [because He stooped so low]

    • God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him

      • As a man Jesus was given the highest position in heaven – King over all men as a man

      • the name that is above every name,

        • No one will have more authority in heaven, spiritual or on earth, physical than Jesus Christ

      • That in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow,

        • in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

      • And every tongue [frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge

        • that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

        • Jesus is declared as the Lord and King of all the earth and the heavens

The Prophet Isaiah

Isa 45:21-24  Declare and bring forward your strong arguments [for praying to gods that cannot save]; yes, take counsel together. Who announced this [the rise of Cyrus and his conquests] beforehand (long ago)? [What god] declared it of old? Was it not I, the Lord? And there is no other God besides Me, a rigidly and uncompromisingly just and righteous God and Saviour; there is none besides Me. 22  Look to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. 23  I have sworn by Myself, the word is gone out of My mouth in righteousness and shall not return, that unto Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear [allegiance]. [Rom. 14:11; Phil. 2:10, 11; Heb. 6:13.] 24  Only in the Lord shall one say, I have righteousness (salvation and victory) and strength [to achieve]. To Him shall all come who were incensed against Him, and they shall be ashamed. [I Cor. 1:30, 31.]

  • Declare and bring forward your strong arguments

    • [for praying to gods that cannot save]; yes, take counsel together.

  • Was it not I, the Lord?

    • And there is no other God besides Me,

        • We must look to God alone for Salvation

        • God is our personal Saviour and Lord

    • there is none besides Me.

    • Look to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth!

Conclusion

The First and the Last

Rev 1:10-18  I was in the Spirit [rapt in His power] on the Lord's Day, and I heard behind me a great voice like the calling of a war trumpet, 11  Saying, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last. Write promptly what you see (your vision) in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia--to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea. 12  Then I turned to see [whose was] the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw seven golden lampstands, 13  And in the midst of the lampstands [One] like a Son of Man, clothed with a robe which reached to His feet and with a girdle of gold about His breast. [Dan. 7:13; 10:5.] 14  His head and His hair were white like white wool, [as white] as snow, and His eyes [flashed] like a flame of fire. [Dan. 7:9.] 15  His feet glowed like burnished (bright) bronze as it is refined in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters. [Dan. 10:6.] 16  In His right hand He held seven stars, and from His mouth there came forth a sharp two-edged sword, and His face was like the sun shining in full power at midday. [Exod. 34:29.] 17  When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as if dead. But He laid His right hand on me and said, Do not be afraid! I am the First and the Last, [Isa. 44:6.] 18  And the Ever-living One [I am living in the eternity of the eternities]. I died, but see, I am alive forevermore; and I possess the keys of death and Hades (the realm of the dead).

  • I was in the Spirit [rapt in His power] on the Lord's Day,

    • and I heard behind me a great voice like the calling of a war trumpet,

      • The Apostle John was looking forward when He heard the Voice like a powerful trumpet

      • Saying, I am the Alpha and the Omega,

      • the First and the Last.

        • Who does the prophets say is the First and the Last?

        • Who told us Himself that He is the First and the Last? God Almighty – God the Father

      • Write promptly what you see (your vision) in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia--to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea. 12

    • Then I turned to see [whose was] the voice that was speaking to me,

      • and on turning I saw seven golden lampstands,

      • And in the midst of the lampstands [One] like a Son of Man,

        • What is strange about what John sees in the vision and revelation?

        • John sees somebody who looks like a MAN/human being!

        • Why is this strange? We expected to see God behind John and not a man

        • clothed with a robe which reached to His feet

        • and with a girdle of gold about His breast. [Dan. 7:13; 10:5.]

        • His head and His hair were white like white wool, [as white] as snow,

        • and His eyes [flashed] like a flame of fire. [Dan. 7:9.]

        • His feet glowed like burnished (bright) bronze as it is refined in a furnace,

        • and His voice was like the sound of many waters. [Dan. 10:6.]

        • In His right hand He held seven stars,

        • and from His mouth there came forth a sharp two-edged sword,

        • and His face was like the sun shining in full power at midday. [Exod. 34:29.]

        • Who does John see and hear? God the Father – The Ancient of Days

        • But who does He really see? Jesus in His glorified state!

        • Thus Jesus in His glorified state is God the Father – the Ancient of Days

      • When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as if dead.

      • But He laid His right hand on me and said,

        • Do not be afraid! I am the First and the Last, [Isa. 44:6.]

          • Jesus alone is the First and the Last

          • Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega

          • God said He alone is the first and the Last

            • Thus Jesus is The God of the Old Testament

        • And the Ever-living One [I am living in the eternity of the eternities].

        • I died, but see, I am alive forevermore;

        • Here this awesome person declare the He has died, but is alive

          • Therefore this must be Jesus Christ

          • Thus Jesus is God!

        • and I possess the keys of death and Hades (the realm of the dead).

The Mystery of God

1Tim 3:16 And great and important and weighty, we confess, is the hidden truth (the mystic secret) of godliness. He [God] was made visible in human flesh, justified and vindicated in the [Holy] Spirit, was seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, [and] taken up in glory.
