The Revelation of the Charater & Nature of Jesus Christ
Knowing Jesus Christ
A True relationship with Jesus Christ
1Jn 1:1 [WE ARE writing] about the Word of Life [in] Him Who existed from the beginning, Whom we have heard, Whom we have seen with our [own] eyes, Whom we have gazed upon [for ourselves] and have touched with our [own] hands. 2 And the Life [an aspect of His being] was revealed (made manifest, demonstrated), and we saw [as eyewitnesses] and are testifying to and declare to you the Life, the eternal Life [in Him] Who already existed with the Father and Who [actually] was made visible (was revealed) to us [His followers]. 3 What we have seen and [ourselves] heard, we are also telling you, so that you too may realize and enjoy fellowship as partners and partakers with us. And [this] fellowship that we have [which is a distinguishing mark of Christians] is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ (the Messiah). 4 And we are now writing these things to you so that our joy [in seeing you included] may be full [and your joy may be complete].
-
[WE ARE writing] about the Word of Life
-
The apostle John describes Jesus as the Word of LIFE!
-
Here Jesus seems to be described in an impersonal way – as an object rather than a person
-
John is trying to convey a specific characteristic of Jesus Christ
-
-
[in] Him
-
Who existed from the beginning,
-
After John revealed WHAT Jesus actually is – THE WORD OF LIFE
-
He explain He has been WITH the Father since the beginning!
-
John reveal that Jesus Christ existed from the beginning and has always been WITH the Father
-
This does not mean that The Father and the Son are TWO,
-
But rather revealed the mystery of WHO and WHAT Jesus Christ is – God’s Word
-
-
-
Whom we have heard,
-
Whom we have seen with our [own] eyes,
-
Whom we have gazed upon [for ourselves] and have touched with our [own] hands.
-
John is in absolute awe of WHO and WHAT Jesus Christ really is
-
John described in a very dramatic way that they have ACTUALLY seen / felt / heard this wonder and mystery of God
-
What John is really try to emphasize before we could understand WHO Jesus Christ is, is WHAT Jesus Christ is!!! – Jesus Christ is the WORD OF GOD
-
Jesus Christ is the VERY LIFE OF GOD!
-
-
-
-
-
And the Life
-
[an aspect of His being]
-
was revealed
-
(made manifest, demonstrated),
-
No one has ever seen God and really experienced His character and nature
-
John is really making the point that they have actually seen this phenomena which He called The of God’s LIFE!
-
John qualifies that there is NO other life like the LIFE of God
-
-
-
-
-
and we saw [as eyewitnesses] and are testifying to and declare to you the Life,
-
the eternal Life
-
[in Him] Who already existed
-
with the Father
-
and Who [actually] was made visible
-
(was revealed) to us [His followers].
-
God brought out that which was invisible into a visible form and shape and personality where it could be seen by all mankind!
-
That which God brought out is NOT something NEW!
-
It has been an aspect of God’s character and nature all along!
-
-
-
-
-
-
What we have seen and [ourselves] heard,
-
we are also telling you,
-
so that you too may
-
John has a very specific purpose WHY he is revealing what He had experienced and seen
-
realize and enjoy fellowship
-
as partners and partakers with us.
-
He wants to prove that the SAME is possible for everyone
-
No only as partners in the gospel, but even as partakers
-
He wants all believers who have never SEEN Jesus to know:
-
They can have a real two way relationship with Jesus Christ
-
This relationship can be so real that they could even ENJOY a real friendship relationship between themselves and Jesus Christ
-
-
-
-
And [this] fellowship that we have
-
[which is a distinguishing mark of Christians]
-
is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ (the Messiah).
-
John qualify that he actually STILL does have such a living two love relationship with God the Father and with the Son – Jesus Christ!!!
-
When we have a fellowship with the Son we ALSO have fellowship with God the Father
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
And we are now writing these things to you
-
so that our joy
-
[in seeing you included]
-
may be full [and your joy may be complete].
-
God’s intention for us to have fellowship with Jesus Christ is to ENJOY FELLOWSHIP with Him
-
God wants us to be full of joy in having fellowship with the Son and the Father!
-
-
-
Jesus is the Character and Nature of God
Heb 1:2 [But] in the last of these days He has spoken to us in [the person of a] Son, Whom He appointed Heir and lawful Owner of all things, also by and through Whom He created the worlds and the reaches of space and the ages of time [He made, produced, built, operated, and arranged them in order]. 3 He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God's] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power. When He had by offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high,
-
[But] in the last of these days
-
He
-
has spoken to us
-
It was not anyone one else, but God Himself WHO spoke to mankind
-
in
-
God found a way to speak to His people
-
God Himself, by His own Spirit, spoke to people through and IN the Son of God
-
[the person of a] Son, Whom
-
God, in His wisdom, has chosen to personally speak to people, by appearing to them as a the Son of God!
-
-
-
-
He
-
appointed
-
Heir
-
and lawful Owner of all things,
-
God the Father had appointed that He would have a King over all things (Ps 2:8)
-
He determined that this King would be called the Son of God
-
This King is God’s Anointed instrument through which He has chosen to SHOW Himself to the world – John 1:10-11 – He came to His own
-
-
-
also by and through Whom
-
How did God create ALL things? Did God need Jesus to create the worlds? No
-
Why then does it say God needed Jesus? It does not say that
-
It only says HOW God created ALL things
-
God created it THROUGH the WORD: “LIGHT BE!”
-
God spoke ALL things into existence! Thus God created THROUGH Jesus, the Christ!
-
-
-
-
-
He
-
created the worlds and the reaches of space and the ages of time
-
-
[He
-
made,
-
produced,
-
built,
-
operated,
-
and arranged them in order].
-
-
He (Jesus Christ – The Visible representation of God)
-
is the sole expression of the glory of God
-
God wanted to express Himself to this world
-
God wanted to show / portray the glory of His person and power
-
God wanted to express His glory of His person in a human form
-
[the Light-being,
-
the out-raying
-
or radiance of the divine],
-
God wanted to bring our what was spiritual to be seen in the physical
-
-
-
and He
-
is the perfect imprint
-
The imprint of my hand is only one aspect of my perfect identity
-
Jesus is a perfect representation of God if He was to be a human being
-
-
and very image of [God's] nature,
-
Jesus Christ is God’s nature expressed in a person with personality, character and nature or ability
-
To Know Jesus Christ is to KNOW GOD’s character and nature
-
-
upholding
-
and maintaining
-
and guiding
-
and propelling
-
the universe
-
by His mighty word of power.
-
ALL things were created and are STILL maintained by the energy of the Word of God
-
God’s Word holds all things in place
-
-
-
-
-
When He
-
had by offering Himself
-
accomplished
-
our cleansing of sins
-
and riddance of guilt,
-
-
-
-
He
-
sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high
-
The Word chosen by the writer is not: “Sit down at the right hand of God,
-
But rather: sit down at the right hand of the divine Majesty
-
-
The Sheep will know Jesus Christ
Joh 10:14 I am the Good Shepherd; and I know and recognize My own, and My own know and recognize Me-- 15 Even as [truly as] the Father knows Me and I also know the Father--and I am giving My [very own] life and laying it down on behalf of the sheep. 16 And I have other sheep [beside these] that are not of this fold. I must bring and impel those also; and they will listen to My voice and heed My call, and so there will be [they will become] one flock under one Shepherd. [Eze. 34:23]
-
I am the Good Shepherd;
-
and I know and recognize My own,
-
The Word ‘know’ was first in the bible used when a man and a woman knew one another
-
The word speaks about intimacy between two beings
-
When two people become one
-
-
and My own know and recognize Me—
-
Jesus spoke about knowing Him in a very personal and intimate way
-
-
-
Even as [truly as] the Father knows Me
-
and I also know the Father
-
How intimate does the Father know His Son? They are NOT two but one!
-
God IN Jesus Christ was revealed to the world
-
God want us to be as ONE with the Father as He is with the Father
-
and I am giving My [very own] life
-
and laying it down on behalf of the sheep.
-
-
And I have other sheep [beside these] that are not of this fold.
-
I must bring and impel those also;
-
and they will listen to My voice and heed My call,
-
When we know the LORD Jesus Christ – we will also be able to know His Voice
-
When we know someone Voice we also know them personally
-
and so there will be [they will become] one flock
-
under one Shepherd. [Eze. 34:23]
-
-
Not only have knowledge about Jesus – but know Jesus personally
Joh 5:37 And the Father Who sent Me has Himself testified concerning Me. Not one of you has ever given ear to His voice or seen His form (His face--what He is like). [You have always been deaf to His voice and blind to the vision of Him.] 38 And you have not His word (His thought) living in your hearts, because you do not believe and adhere to and trust in and rely on Him Whom He has sent. [That is why you do not keep His message living in you, because you do not believe in the Messenger Whom He has sent.] 39 You search and investigate and pore over the Scriptures diligently, because you suppose and trust that you have eternal life through them. And these [very Scriptures] testify about Me! 40 And still you are not willing [but refuse] to come to Me, so that you might have life.
-
And the Father Who sent Me has Himself testified concerning Me.
-
Not one of you
-
has ever given ear to His voice
-
or seen His form
-
Jesus said NO ONE has seen the Father ever!
-
No one has ever seen the form of the Father
-
The Father is Spirit and has no need for form or shape!
-
(His face--what He is like).
-
-
-
[You have always
-
been deaf to His voice
-
and blind to the vision of Him.]
-
-
And you
-
have not His word
-
(His thought) living in your hearts,
-
The Word of God is the very thoughts of God
-
When we appreciate the Word of God we appreciate the very heart and thoughts of God
-
-
-
because you
-
do not believe and adhere to and trust in and rely on
-
Him Whom He has sent.
-
Jesus spoke the VERY WORDS of God, expressing the very thoughts of God
-
-
-
[That is why you
-
do not keep His message living in you,
-
-
because you
-
do not believe in
-
the Messenger Whom He has sent.]
-
-
-
You
-
search and investigate and pore over the Scriptures diligently,
-
We could be only religious and only study the Word of God for knowledge
-
Many people go into great detail in studying the Word of God, but still MISS the very purpose of God
-
-
because you
-
suppose and trust that you have eternal life through them.
-
And these [very Scriptures] testify about Me!
-
The purpose of the scriptures is that we could find the VERY heart of God
-
We should not only study the scriptures without realizing that it is speaking about Jesus
-
-
-
And still you
-
are not willing [but refuse] to
-
come to Me,
-
We MUST go to Jesus personally
-
He must personally speak to us so that we my know HIM
-
so that you might have life.
-
-
-
The Anointing
Walk and Conduct yourself like Jesus Christ
1Jn 2:5 But he who keeps (treasures) His Word [who bears in mind His precepts, who observes His message in its entirety], truly in him has the love of and for God been perfected (completed, reached maturity). By this we may perceive (know, recognize, and be sure) that we are in Him: 6 Whoever says he abides in Him ought [as a personal debt] to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked and conducted Himself.
-
But he
-
who keeps
-
(treasures)
-
The Word treasure is a very powerful word – It is NOT ONLY to keep the word of God out of duty,
-
but because you love and dearly value it as a great treasure!
-
His Word
-
-
-
[who
-
bears in mind
-
His precepts,
-
-
-
who
-
observes
-
His message in its entirety],
-
The message of Jesus came so that we could pick and choose what we want to do
-
The example and message of Jesus Christ was a perfect representation of the heart of God
-
-
-
-
truly in him
-
has
-
the love of
-
God’s LOVE for mankind!
-
God’s personal Love for you!
-
Do you see God’s love in the detail of your life?
-
-
and for God
-
Our Love for God is imperfect,
-
but can only be made perfect when we realize the LOVE of God for us
-
-
been perfected
-
(completed,
-
reached maturity)
-
Spiritual maturity is to know and live in the SAME kind of Love as Jesus did!
-
-
-
-
-
By this we
-
may perceive
-
(know,
-
recognize,
-
In order to see what we can’t we need to perceive with the spirit and with the heart
-
We can only see Jesus by faith
-
God has given us the ability to perceive what the natural senses can’t see
-
We must learn to recognize the difference between the Spirit of Jesus / Holy Spirit and other spirits
-
We are able to KNOW Jesus in a very personal way without ever having seen Him
-
Remember the definition of faith:
-
Heb 11:1 NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].
-
-
and be sure)
-
that we are in Him
-
We must be IN CHRIST – Christ in us vs. us IN Christ!
-
-
-
-
-
Whoever
-
says he abides
-
in Him
-
ought [as a personal debt]
-
What is your true motive why you do what you do?
-
Do you truly realize what Jesus has done for you?
-
to walk
-
and conduct
-
himself
-
in the same way
-
We were called to live and become just like Jesus did!
-
-
-
-
in which
-
He walked
-
and conducted
-
Himself
-
-
-
-
-
You have been anointed
1Jn 2:20 But you have been anointed by [you hold a sacred appointment from, you have been given an unction from] the Holy One, and you all know [the Truth] or you know all things.
-
But you
-
have been
-
anointed
-
What does it mean to be anointed?
-
Χρίσμα – chrisma - khris'-mah
-
From G5548; an unguent or smearing, that is,
-
Smearing is an indication of HOW the thick oil flows
-
The Spirit Flows!!!!
-
-
(figuratively) the special endowment
-
(“chrism”) of the Holy Spirit:
-
anointing
-
unction = Prompting
-
-
-
-
-
by
-
This was DONE for you and to you!
-
You did NOTHING to deserve this gift
-
It is the grace of God
-
-
-
-
-
you
-
hold
-
a sacred appointment from
-
When prophet anoint a king with oil get appointed by personally by God
-
God has appointment or selected you
-
God has set you apart for His purposes
-
What has God appointed you as?
-
A son of God
-
Not a son of man – earthly or from the earth anymore
-
Not born from flesh, but a spiritually glorified being
-
Son is like His Father! God is Spirit!
-
Like Jesus Christ in Spirit and Love and Power!
-
-
-
-
-
-
you
-
have been given
-
an unction
-
What is an unction?
-
Χράομαι – chraomai - khrah'-om-ahee
-
Middle voice of a primary verb (perhaps rather from G5495,
-
to handle);
-
to furnish what is needed;
-
(give an oracle, “graze”
-
[touch slightly] = Holy Spirit comes upon
-
light upon = Holy Spirit lighted upon Jesus
-
that is, (by implication) to employ
-
or (by extension) to act towards one in a given manner:
-
entreat, use
-
-
-
Therefore the Holy Spirit will act toward you in a given manner!
-
In what manner will the Holy Spirit act towards you?
-
-
-
from
-
-
-
-
the Holy One,
-
and you all
-
know [the Truth]
-
-
or you
-
know all things
-
We will be given the heart and mind of God – 1Cor 2:9-16
-
We will feel like God
-
We will think like God
-
We will know like God!!!
-
God knows ALL things – past / present / future & ALL mysteries
-
-
-
-
-
The Anointing IN you teaches you
1Jn 2:24 As for you, keep in your hearts what you have heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the first dwells and remains in you, then you will dwell in the Son and in the Father [always]. 25 And this is what He Himself has promised us--the life, the eternal [life]. 26 I write this to you with reference to those who would deceive you [seduce and lead you astray]. 27 But as for you, the anointing (the sacred appointment, the unction) which you received from Him abides [permanently] in you; [so] then you have no need that anyone should instruct you. But just as His anointing teaches you concerning everything and is true and is no falsehood, so you must abide in (live in, never depart from) Him [being rooted in Him, knit to Him], just as [His anointing] has taught you [to do]. 28 And now, little children, abide (live, remain permanently) in Him, so that when He is made visible, we may have and enjoy perfect confidence (boldness, assurance) and not be ashamed and shrink from Him at His coming. 29 If you know (perceive and are sure) that He [Christ] is [absolutely] righteous [conforming to the Father's will in purpose, thought, and action], you may also know (be sure) that everyone who does righteously [and is therefore in like manner conformed to the divine will] is born (begotten) of Him [God].
-
As for you, keep in your hearts
-
That which God has given us lives in our hearts – the centre of our beings
-
what you have heard from the beginning.
-
If what you heard from the first
-
When we understand what they heard at first we will know what they have received
-
They received what they received just be hearing the Truth!
-
We must believe the truth in order to receive the same understanding
-
-
dwells and remains in you,
-
God’s Spirit already dwells or lives permanently in us
-
then you will dwell
-
How do you know that the Son and the Father lives in you?
-
The Spirit of Truth will dwell in you!
-
How do you know that the Spirit of Truth dwells in you?
-
-
When the
-
in the Son
-
and in the Father [always].
-
-
-
-
And this is what He Himself
-
has promised us –
-
the life, the eternal [life].
-
The Spirit of Truth is LIFE and even Life Eternal!
-
-
-
-
I write this to you with reference to those who would deceive you [seduce and lead you astray].
-
But as for you,
-
the anointing
-
The Word Anointing appears only 3 times in the Word of God
-
What is the Anointing?
-
-
(the sacred appointment,
-
The Anointing which we have received is a sacred appointment from God
-
God has appointed us to something special
-
God has given us a very special privilege we could not have taken part because of sin
-
-
-
the unction)
-
which you received from Him
-
abides [permanently] in you;
-
Some say that the Anointing is ONLY and appointment, but it is not true
-
The Anointing ABIDES permanently in us
-
The Anointing is a person AND Appointment from God
-
The Anointment is also the empowerment from God by the Spirit of Truth
-
-
-
-
-
-
[so] then you
-
have no need that anyone should instruct you.
-
Wow – when we know the Anointing – He will instruct you!
-
Why does the apostle not speak of the Spirit of God, but the Anointing?
-
He is trying convey a certain understanding He has of HOW the Spirit, by the Anointing teaches
-
The Anointing teaches like oil that flows over and through us
-
The Spirit always leads us into more and more Truth
-
-
-
But
-
just as His anointing teaches you
-
These believes had an ability be which the Anointing was able to teach them
-
The Anointing teaches like a River of LIFE flowing out of you – John 4:23
-
We cannot hear a voice because God is Spirit,
-
but a River of LIFE flowing out of our bellies is an indication of the Truth that is in us
-
-
-
concerning everything
-
The Spirit of God knows ALL Truth and wants to reveal it to those who are willing and humble
-
We just need to ask the Spirit of Truth and He will start to lead you and guide you to the truth
-
We must be open and obedient to the Spirit’s promptings and leadings - Instigations
-
-
and is true
-
and is no falsehood,
-
-
-
so you
-
must abide in
-
(live in,
-
never depart from)
-
Once you have started to experience the Truth by the Presence of God confirming the Truth
-
Stay in the truth and be will to be Guided by the manifest Presence and Glory of God
-
Where the Spirit of the Lord manifest, there God brings revelation and freedom that set free!
-
That is HOW you can know that the Spirit is teaching and guiding you into the Truth!
-
Him
-
[being rooted in Him,
-
knit to Him],
-
We must be deeply rooted in Christ / the Spirit
-
The Spirit is Christ – Jesus is the Lord and the Lord is the Spirit!
-
-
-
-
just as [His anointing]
-
has taught you [to do].
-
-
-
And now, little children,
-
abide
-
(live,
-
remain permanently)
-
in Him,
-
so that when He is made visible,
-
we may have and enjoy perfect confidence
-
(boldness,
-
assurance)
-
and not be ashamed
-
and shrink from Him at His coming.
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
If you know
-
(perceive and are sure)
-
In order to learn HOW to be taught by the Anointing we must learn to perceive the Presence of God
-
We must become more sensitive to the Spirit of God’s Presence
-
The Presence becomes tangible the Spirit becomes manifested in an experiential way
-
-
that He [Christ] is [absolutely] righteous
-
[conforming to the Father's will
-
in purpose,
-
thought,
-
and action],
-
The Spirit is in perfect harmony to that heart and the will of God
-
Jesus Christ, by the Spirit of God, lived in perfect harmony with the will of God
-
The Spirit and Jesus Christ is absolutely ONE in thought and action with the will of God
-
-
-
-
-
-
you may also know
-
(be sure)
-
that everyone who does righteously
-
[and is therefore in like manner conformed to the divine will]
-
When the Spirit lives in us, He will bring us into to the perfect will and desire of the heart of God the Father
-
When we live like that we will be like Christ Jesus in every way – and ABIDE in Christ!
-
is born
-
(begotten)
-
-

-
of Him [God].
Why does Jesus speak to us in parables?
Revealing Secrets and Mysteries of the kingdom of God
Mat 13:10 Then the disciples came to Him and said, Why do You speak to them in parables? 11 And He replied to them, To you it has been given to know the secrets and mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. 12 For whoever has [spiritual knowledge], to him will more be given and he will be furnished richly so that he will have abundance; but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away. 13 This is the reason that I speak to them in parables: because having the power of seeing, they do not see; and having the power of hearing, they do not hear, nor do they grasp and understand. 14 In them indeed is the process of fulfilment of the prophecy of Isaiah, which says: You shall indeed hear and hear but never grasp and understand; and you shall indeed look and look but never see and perceive. 15 For this nation's heart has grown gross (fat and dull), and their ears heavy and difficult of hearing, and their eyes they have tightly closed, lest they see and perceive with their eyes, and hear and comprehend the sense with their ears, and grasp and understand with their heart, and turn and I should heal them. [Isa. 6:9-10] 16 But blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are your eyes because they do see, and your ears because they do hear. 17 Truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous men [men who were upright and in right standing with God] yearned to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.
-
Then the disciples came to Him and said,
-
Why do You speak to them in parables?
-
-
And He replied to them,
-
To you it has been given to know
-
the secrets
-
and mysteries
-
of the kingdom of heaven,
-
The Spiritual heavens also functions according to spiritual laws
-
The Law of sin vs. the Law of the Spirit
-
-
There are great spiritual mysteries God is trying to teach His children
-
In order to understand spiritual mysteries God must reveal them to us
-
We must pray for a spirit of wisdom and revelation from God – Eph 1:
-
-
It is hard to understand spiritual things for a few reasons:
-
God lives outside of space and time – He lives in another dimension
-
-
-
-
but to them
-
it has not been given.
-
-
For
-
whoever
-
has [spiritual knowledge],
-
The Word of God is full of spiritual revelation and experiences that people had that changed their lives
-
-
to him
-
will more be given
-
and he will be furnished richly
-
so that he will have abundance;
-
-
-
-
but
-
from him who has not,
-
even what he has
-
will be taken away.
-
-
-
-
-
This is the reason
-
that I speak to them in parables:
-
-
because
-
having the power of seeing,
-
they do not see;
-
In order to see and hear things in the Spiritual realm we must look at things through spiritual eyes
-
-
and having the power of hearing,
-
they do not hear,
-
nor do they grasp and understand.
-
-
In them indeed is the process of fulfilment of the prophecy of Isaiah, which says:
-
You shall indeed hear and hear
-
but never grasp and understand;
-
-
and you shall indeed look and look
-
but never see and perceive.
-
In order to see and hear in the Spirit we must learn to perceive with the spirit
-
We must learn to get true spiritual discernment
-
-
-
-
-
For
-
this nation's heart
-
has grown gross
-
(fat
-
and dull),
-
We perceive with the heart and the spiritual eyes
-
When our spiritual heart is hardened or dull we do have ability to perceive in the Spirit
-
The spirit know – We can know things by the Spirit of God
-
-
-
and their ears
-
heavy and difficult of hearing,
-
-
and their eyes
-
they have tightly closed,
-
lest they see and perceive with their eyes,
-
and hear and comprehend the sense with their ears,
-
and grasp and understand with their heart,
-
and turn and I should heal them. [Isa. 6:9-10]
-
-
-
-
But
-
blessed
-
(happy, fortunate, and to be envied)
-
are your eyes
-
because they do see,
-
-
and your ears
-
because they do hear.
-
When we do get spiritual insight we speak of revelation from God
-
This is when the Word becomes real and alive and powerful!
-
-
-
-
-
Truly I tell you,
-
many prophets and righteous men
-
[men who were upright and in right standing with God]
-
yearned to see what you see,
-
and did not see it,
-
-
and to hear what you hear,
-
and did not hear it.
-

Speaking of Heavenly or Spiritual Things
Joh 3:7 Marvel not [do not be surprised, astonished] at My telling you, You must all be born anew (from above). 8 The wind blows (breathes) where it wills; and though you hear its sound, yet you neither know where it comes from nor where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit. 9 Nicodemus answered by asking, How can all this be possible? 10 Jesus replied, Are you the teacher of Israel, and yet do not know nor understand these things? [Are they strange to you?] 11 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, We speak only of what we know [we know absolutely what we are talking about]; we have actually seen what we are testifying to [we were eyewitnesses of it]. And still you do not receive our testimony [you reject and refuse our evidence--that of Myself and of all those who are born of the Spirit]. 12 If I have told you of things that happen right here on the earth and yet none of you believes Me, how can you believe (trust Me, adhere to Me, rely on Me) if I tell you of heavenly things? 13 And yet no one has ever gone up to heaven, but there is One Who has come down from heaven--the Son of Man [Himself], Who is (dwells, has His home) in heaven.
-
Marvel not [do not be surprised, astonished] at My telling you,
-
You must all be born anew
-
(from above).
-
To be born again is to be born from above
-
Actually we now realize WHO or WHAT we really ARE – 1 John 4:17
-
-
When you have an experience with God you come to realize that there is a whole spiritual world
-
We start to become aware of an invisible spiritual world
-
-
-
The wind blows (breathes) where it wills;
-
and though you hear its sound,
-
yet you neither know where it comes from nor where it is going.
-
The Spirit of God is compared to wind / fire / river / whirlwind
-
Wind is invisible and all have a flow characteristic
-
-
-
So it is
-
with everyone who is born of the Spirit.
-
When we are born of the Spirit we have a definite experience of change in our nature as a human being
-
We used to only thing fleshly / earthly / physical
-
Now we think Heavenly / above / spiritual / supernatural
-
We become more OPEN and AWARE of things we knew nothing of before – angels / demons / spirits / Holy Spirit
-
-
-
Nicodemus answered by asking,
-
How can all this be possible?
-
-
Jesus replied,
-
Are you the teacher of Israel,
-
and yet do not know nor understand these things?
-
We cannot try and understand the things of the spirit with our carnal and physical minds
-
Many are spiritually discerned – they have not spiritual perception of the spiritual and its laws
-
-
[Are they strange to you?]
-
People find it hard to understand when people talk about spiritual things
-
Only once you have tasted it – will you KNOW what others are talking about
-
-
-
-
I assure you, most solemnly I tell you,
-
We speak only of what we know
-
[we know absolutely what we are talking about];
-
we have actually seen what we are testifying to
-
[we were eyewitnesses of it].
-
Jesus is a personal eye witness of HOW things work in the spiritual realms
-
Jesus know absolutely WHAT He is talking about
-
We must believe Jesus – who is a trust worthy witness of the Truth of HOW things works in the heavenlies
-
If we believe Jesus we will truth His words comes from experience and will obey His words
-
Jesus is a TRUE MASTER of the spiritual heavens
-
-
-
And still you
-
do not receive our testimony
-
[you reject and refuse our evidence—
-
that of Myself and of all those who are born of the Spirit]
-
We are fools when we do NOT take Jesus at His Word – We are in unbelief
-
Satan knows who lives in ignorance and prey upon them and their weaknesses
-
-
-
-
If I have told you
-
of things that happen right here on the earth
-
and yet none of you believes Me,
-
how can you believe
-
(trust Me,
-
adhere to Me,
-
rely on Me)
-
Jesus is our spiritual eyes and we need to act in faith more than in logic
-
It is better to trust Jesus rather than our 5 physical senses and physical logic
-
-
-
if I tell you of heavenly things?
-
And yet no one has ever gone up to heaven,
-
-
but there is One Who
-
has come down from heaven
-
the Son of Man [Himself],
-
Who is
-
Jesus made a profound statement – He said He NOT only came from heaven,
-
BUT was currently IN HEAVEN
-
Jesus perfectly lived in two places at the same time
-
Both the Spiritual and the physical
-
-
-
(dwells,
-
has His home)
-
in heaven
-
Jesus was not mostly living in the physical world,
-
but rather was rooted in the Spiritual world and lived and function from there
-
He was ‘ALSO BORN FROM ABOVE’ or rather He has ALWAYS LIVED FROM ABOVE!
-

Judging and Understanding things Spiritually
1Cor 2:9 But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says, What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed]. [Isa. 64:4; Isa. 65:17] 10 Yet to us God has unveiled and revealed them by and through His Spirit, for the [Holy] Spirit searches diligently, exploring and examining everything, even sounding the profound and bottomless things of God [the divine counsels and things hidden and beyond man's scrutiny]. 11 For what person perceives (knows and understands) what passes through a man's thoughts except the man's own spirit within him? Just so no one discerns (comes to know and comprehend) the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have not received the spirit [that belongs to] the world, but the [Holy] Spirit Who is from God, [given to us] that we might realize and comprehend and appreciate the gifts [of divine favour and blessing so freely and lavishly] bestowed on us by God. 13 And we are setting these truths forth in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the [Holy] Spirit, combining and interpreting spiritual truths with spiritual language [to those who possess the Holy Spirit]. 14 But the natural, nonspiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense) to him; and he is incapable of knowing them [of progressively recognizing, understanding, and becoming better acquainted with them] because they are spiritually discerned and estimated and appreciated. 15 But the spiritual man tries all things [he examines, investigates, inquires into, questions, and discerns all things], yet is himself to be put on trial and judged by no one [he can read the meaning of everything, but no one can properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him]. 16 For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart. [Isa. 40:13]
-
But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says,
-
What eye has not seen
-
and ear has not heard
-
and has not entered into the heart of man,
-
[all that] God has prepared
-
God has prepared something amazing for His people, those who believe and love Him
-
What has God prepared for us?
-
God wants to reveal this mystery to His loved ones
-
(made and keeps ready)
-
for those
-
who love Him
-
[who hold Him
-
in affectionate reverence,
-
promptly obeying Him
-
and gratefully
-
recognizing the benefits He has bestowed].
-
God has bestowed something upon His people!
-
If something is bestowed it is granted freely
-
and conferred upon His people
-
-
[Isa. 64:4; Isa. 65:17]
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Yet
-
to us
-
God has
-
unveiled
-
and revealed them
-
by and through His Spirit,
-
God has hidden something for ages and generations,
-
but wanted to unveil His master plan of love
-
-
The way God reveal it after Jesus Christ is through His Spirit
-
We must me more Spirit focused
-
in order to grasp WHAT God has given us freely
-
-
-
-
for
-
the [Holy] Spirit
-
searches diligently,
-
exploring
-
and examining everything,
-
-
even sounding
-
the profound
-
and bottomless things of God
-
Gen 1:2 The earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters.
-
Once I was granted to see something very precious regards the bottomless depth of God
-
The depth of God is beyond what many realize – God has ad infinite possibility and capability
-
[the divine counsels
-
and things hidden and beyond man's scrutiny].
-
-
-
-
-
For
-
what person perceives
-
(knows and understands)
-
We must learn to perceive with the Spirit in order to understand spiritual things
-
True spiritual things are supernatural – has not space and time!
-
what passes through a man's thoughts
-
except the man's own spirit
-
Before a thought is on our mind God knows it!
-
Thoughts comes from the center of our hearts
-
We must learn to know what we are thinking and feeling
-
within him
-
-
-
-
-
-
Just so
-
no one discerns
-
(comes to know and comprehend)
-
the thoughts of God
-
except the Spirit of God.
-
The Spirit of God knows God’s deepest thoughts and desires
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Now we
-
have not received
-
the spirit
-
[that belongs to] the world,
-
-
-
but
-
the [Holy] Spirit
-
Who is from God,
-
There are two kinds of spirits – the spirit of the world vs. the Spirit of God
-
-
-
[given to us]
-
that we might realize
-
and comprehend
-
and appreciate
-
the gifts
-
God has done something amazing for mankind, because He so loves it!
-
God wants us to realize and even appreciate what He has done for us
-
God has given us GIFTS or presents from heaven
-
[of divine favour and blessing
-
God has shown us immense favor and love – blessing us
-
so freely and lavishly]
-
bestowed on us
-
by God.
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
And we
-
are setting these truths forth in words
-
not taught by human wisdom
-
God spoke to people in parables in order to convey spiritual truths
-
-
but
-
taught by the [Holy] Spirit,
-
The Holy Spirit wants to teach us
-
We must learn to allow the Spirit to teach us!
-
combining
-
and interpreting
-
spiritual truths
-
with spiritual language
-
[to those who possess the Holy Spirit].
-
-
-
-
-
-
But
-
the natural,
-
nonspiritual man
-
does not accept
-
or welcome
-
or admit
-
into his heart
-
the gifts
-
and teachings
-
and revelations
-
of the Spirit of God,
-
The Lord God wants to reveal great revelations about Himself
-
God wants to teach you the truths of God
-
God has given us great gifts of the Spirit
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
for
-
they are folly
-
(meaningless nonsense)
-
to him;
-
-
-
and he is incapable of knowing them
-
[of progressively recognizing,
-
understanding,
-
and becoming better acquainted with them]
-
The way of getting to know the things of God’s Spirit we must be faithful in small things
-
We will progressively become more and more sensitive and be able to recognize the Spirit of God
-
-
-
because
-
they are spiritually discerned
-
and estimated
-
and appreciated.
-
What does it mean to be spiritual discerned? We are spiritual blind / deaf / hardened in heart
-
-
But
-
the spiritual man
-
tries all things
-
[he examines,
-
investigates,
-
inquires into,
-
questions,
-
and discerns all things],
-
When we are spiritual we will be able to discern things in the Spirit
-
We must learn to test things that seems spiritual according to the Spirit of God
-
-
-
-
yet
-
is himself
-
to be put on trial
-
and judged
-
by no one
-
-
-
-
[he
-
can read the meaning of everything,
-
-
-
but
-
no one can properly
-
discern
-
or appraise
-
or get an insight into him].
-
-
-
For
-
who has known
-
or understood
-
the mind
-
(the counsels
-
and purposes)
-
The Mind of God = councils and the purposes of God
-
of the Lord
-
so as to guide and instruct Him
-
and give Him knowledge
-
God has ALL knowledge and wisdom
-
When we know God’s heart we will also know all knowledge and wisdom
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
But
-
we have
-
the mind of Christ (the Messiah)
-
The mind of Christ = the mind of God
-
and do hold the thoughts
-
(feelings
-
and purposes)
-
of His heart. [Isa. 40:13]
-
When we are ONE with God - we also experience the thoughts and feelings and purposes of God
-
-
-
-
-

Things hard to explain in words
2Cor 12:1 TRUE, THERE is nothing to be gained by it, but [as I am obliged] to boast, I will go on to visions and revelations of the Lord. 2 I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago - whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows--was caught up to the third heaven. 3 And I know that this man--whether in the body or away from the body I do not know, God knows - 4 Was caught up into paradise, and he heard utterances beyond the power of man to put into words, which man is not permitted to utter.
-
TRUE, THERE is nothing to be gained by it,
-
but [as I am obliged] to boast,
-
I will go on
-
to visions and revelations
-
of the Lord.
-
All visions, revelations and experiences must be judged by the Word of God
-
All visions, revelations and experiences must be judged by the character and nature of God
-
Paul has many experiences in which the Lord Jesus showed him many things
-
The purpose of visions and revelations is to help us know the Lord better (Eph 1:17-19)
-
-
-
I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago
-
whether in the body
-
or out of the body
-
When we do have spiritual experiences they are sometimes strange to us
-
In the Spirit we can be at two places at the same time (We are outside of space and time)
-
We might feel like we are in our bodies and outside our bodies at the same time
-
-
-
I do not know,
-
God knows
-
was caught up to the third heaven.
-
There are many spiritual mysteries which God wants to reveal to His church
-
The Spirit will help us to understand the things of the spirit and the spiritual realm
-
If there are three heavens , there must be at least two other – first and second heaven
-
-
-
And I know that this man
-
Paul speaks of himself in the third person
-
whether in the body
-
or away from the body
-
-
I do not know
-
God knows
-
Was caught up into paradise,
-
-
and he
-
heard utterances
-
beyond the power of man to put into words,
-
which man is not permitted to utter
-
Many have interpreted Paul’s word to mean he was NOT allowed to speak of what he had seen
-
No – rather it was HARD to explain and put into words what he had seen and experienced
-
The reason it is hard is because in the spirit there is not time and space and God had to used parables to explain the great mysteries of the kingdom of God – the third heaven
-
-
-

TRUE DISCIPLES HAVE AN EXPERIENCE OF THE TRUTH
Joh 8:31 So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide in My word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them], you are truly My disciples. 32 And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.
-
So Jesus said to those Jews
-
who had believed in Him,
-
We can have a mere mental belief, which is not dead
-
If you
-
abide
-
We can not only believe, we must remain believing always
-
It must be our nature to always believe
-
-
in My word
-
We must learn to constantly think and live according to the Word of God
-
-
-
[hold fast to
-
My teachings
-
and live in accordance with them
-
-
-
you
-
are truly My disciples.
-
-
And you
-
will know the Truth
-
To LIVE in result in KNOWING TRUTH by experience
-
Experiential Truth!
-
and the Truth
-
will set you free
-
ONLY Experiential Truth of the Word of Jesus Christ will set you FREE
-
When you are free you have true understanding
-
You know what you are talking about
-
You talk with authority, not head knowledge
-
-
-
-
-
-
The Spirit of Jesus Christ Leads us into ALL TRUTH
Jesus Christ - The Spirit of Truth lives in you
Joh 14:16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever—17 The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.
-
And I will ask the Father,
-
and He will give you another Comforter
-
(Counselor,
-
Helper,
-
Intercessor,
-
Advocate,
-
Strengthener,
-
and Standby),
-
that He may remain with you forever
-
The Spirit of God will remain with you forever and will never leave you
-
-
-
The Spirit of Truth,
-
The Spirit can only reveal the Truth – Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life!
-
Whom the world cannot receive
-
(welcome,
-
take to its heart),
-
We must truly be deeply convicted in our hearts about God’s love
-
-
-
because
-
it does not see Him
-
or know
-
and recognize Him.
-
We must learn to recognize the Spirit of God until we can see Him
-
-
-
-
-
But you
-
know
-
and recognize Him,
-
-
for
-
He
-
lives with you [constantly]
-
Jesus told the disciples that they do know the Spirit of God
-
How do they know Him? He lives WITH them
-
-
Who lived with them? Jesus Christ!
-
-
-
and
-
(He)
-
will be in you.
-
Who was with them and will THEN be IN them? Jesus Christ!
-
Who will be IN them? The Holy Spirit
-
-
The Spirit will Interpret Jesus’ Words to you and lead and guide you
Joh 14:26 But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.
-
But
-
the Comforter
-
(Counselor,
-
Helper,
-
Intercessor,
-
Advocate,
-
Strengthener,
-
Standby),
-
the Holy Spirit,
-
-
-
Whom the Father will send in My name
-
[in My place,
-
to represent Me
-
The Spirit will be a perfect representation of Jesus Christ
-
-
and act on My behalf],
-
-
-
He
-
will teach you all things.
-
Jesus does not say the Spirit will only teach us a few things
-
No – It say He will teach us ALL things
-
-
How does the Holy Spirit teach?
-
Through the Anointing = Abiding in Jesus, the Christ – Anointed One!
-
Abiding in His Words
-
Abiding In His Love
-
Abiding in His motive
-
Abiding in His example
-
-
-
-
And He
-
will cause you to recall
-
(will remind you of,
-
bring to your remembrance)
-
everything I have told you
-
The Spirit of Jesus Christ – God in Christ
-
The Holy Spirit will illuminate scripture
-
Make Scripture REAL and LIVING
-
Will SEE the POWER and FORCE of the WORD OF GOD
-
-
-
-
-
-
