The Spiritual Body

1Cor 15:34  Awake [from your drunken stupor and return] to sober sense and your right minds, and sin no more. For some of you have not the knowledge of God [you are utterly and willfully and disgracefully ignorant, and continue to be so, lacking the sense of God's presence and all true knowledge of Him]. I say this to your shame. 35  But someone will say, How can the dead be raised? With what [kind of] body will they come forth?  36  You foolish man! Every time you plant seed, you sow something that does not come to life [germinating, springing up, and growing] unless it dies first. 37  Nor is the seed you sow then the body which it is going to have [later], but it is a naked kernel, perhaps of wheat or some of the rest of the grains. 38  But God gives to it the body that He plans and sees fit, and to each kind of seed a body of its own. [Gen. 1:11.] 39  For all flesh is not the same, but there is one kind for humans, another for beasts, another for birds, and another for fish. 40  There are heavenly bodies (sun, moon, and stars) and there are earthly bodies (men, animals, and plants), but the beauty and glory of the heavenly bodies is of one kind, while the beauty and glory of earthly bodies is a different kind. 41  The sun is glorious in one way, the moon is glorious in another way, and the stars are glorious in their own [distinctive] way; for one star differs from and surpasses another in its beauty and brilliance. 42  So it is with the resurrection of the dead. [The body] that is sown is perishable and decays, but [the body] that is resurrected is imperishable (immune to decay, immortal). [Dan. 12:3.] 43  It is sown in dishonor and humiliation; it is raised in honor and glory. It is sown in infirmity and weakness; it is resurrected in strength and endued with power. 44  It is sown a natural (physical) body; it is raised a supernatural (a spiritual) body. [As surely as] there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual body.

  • We are like drunken men with no understanding

  • Our senses are dulled / lulled by this world

  • We do not sense the presence of God

  • The Seed can only life when it dies

  • The Seed vs. The Plant – Must geminate, spring up and grow.

  • God gave each a different type of body as He determined

  • Heavenly bodies vs. Earthly bodies

  • Sun, Stars and the Moon vs. Humans, Animals, Plants

  • The Glory of each differs

  • Perishable body vs. Imperishable body

  • Weakness and Sickness vs. Strength and Power

  • Natural (Physical) body vs. Supernatural (A Spiritual) Body

The Righteousness of God

Heb 5:13  For everyone who continues to feed on milk is obviously inexperienced and unskilled in the doctrine of righteousness (of conformity to the divine will in purpose, thought, and action), for he is a mere infant [not able to talk yet]! 14  But solid food is for full-grown men, for those whose senses and mental faculties are trained by practice to discriminate and distinguish between what is morally good and noble and what is evil and contrary either to divine or human law.

  • We must learn to live in the state of God’s righteousness

  • Our spiritual senses must be trained and practiced

  • There are always three voices: God’s /Your’s / Satan’s (Truth vs. Lie / Right vs. Wrong / God’s will vs. Your will / Satan’s Will)

The Body of Christ

Gifts to the body

Eph 4:8  Therefore it is said, When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive [He led a train of vanquished foes] and He bestowed gifts on men. [Ps. 68:18.] 9 [But He ascended?] Now what can this, He ascended, mean but that He had previously descended from [the heights of] heaven into [the depths], the lower parts of the earth? 10  He Who descended is the [very] same as He Who also has ascended high above all the heavens, that He [His presence] might fill all things (the whole universe, from the lowest to the highest). 11  And His gifts were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us] some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the Gospel, traveling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers. 12  His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), [that they should do] the work of ministering toward building up Christ's body (the church), 13  [That it might develop] until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension of the [full and accurate] knowledge of the Son of God, that [we might arrive] at really mature manhood (the completeness of personality which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ's own perfection), the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ and the completeness found in Him.

  • The Gifts were bestowed from heaven – All the gifts help us understand God and Jesus Christ

  • Men cannot make up these gifts

  • God is the giver of the gifts

  • Different kinds of gifts (People / Spiritual gifts)

  • People – Apostles, Prophets, Teachers, Evangelists, Pastors or Shepherds – 5 Fold gifts

  • God in Jesus gave us gifts to perfect and to equip His church His body

  • God want all to attain to the same degree of faith and spiritual knowledge

  • God wants us to become mature in the Spirit

  • God wants us to become like Jesus His Son

Many parts to the body

1Cor 12:12  For just as the body is a unity and yet has many parts, and all the parts, though many, form [only] one body, so it is with Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). 13  For by [means of the personal agency of] one [Holy] Spirit we were all, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free, baptized [and by baptism united together] into one body, and all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit. 14  For the body does not consist of one limb or organ but of many. 15  If the foot should say, Because I am not the hand, I do not belong to the body, would it be therefore not [a part] of the body? 16  If the ear should say, Because I am not the eye, I do not belong to the body, would it be therefore not [a part] of the body? 17  If the whole body were an eye, where [would be the sense of] hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where [would be the sense of] smell? 18  But as it is, God has placed and arranged the limbs and organs in the body, each [particular one] of them, just as He wished and saw fit and with the best adaptation. 19  But if [the whole] were all a single organ, where would the body be? 20  And now there are [certainly] many limbs and organs, but a single body. 21  And the eye is not able to say to the hand, I have no need of you, nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. 22  But instead, there is [absolute] necessity for the parts of the body that are considered the more weak. 23  And those [parts] of the body which we consider rather ignoble are [the very parts] which we invest with additional honor, and our unseemly parts and those unsuitable for exposure are treated with seemliness (modesty and decorum), 24  Which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so adjusted (mingled, harmonized, and subtly proportioned the parts of) the whole body, giving the greater honor and richer endowment to the inferior parts which lack [apparent importance], 25  So that there should be no division or discord or lack of adaptation [of the parts of the body to each other], but the members all alike should have a mutual interest in and care for one another. 26  And if one member suffers, all the parts [share] the suffering; if one member is honored, all the members [share in] the enjoyment of it. 27  Now you [collectively] are Christ's body and [individually] you are members of it, each part severally and distinct [each with his own place and function]. 28  So God has appointed some in the church [for His own use]: first apostles (special messengers); second prophets (inspired preachers and expounders); third teachers; then wonder-workers; then those with ability to heal the sick; helpers; administrators; [speakers in] different (unknown) tongues. 29  Are all apostles (special messengers)? Are all prophets (inspired interpreters of the will and purposes of God)? Are all teachers? Do all have the power of performing miracles? 30  Do all possess extraordinary powers of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? 31  But earnestly desire and zealously cultivate the greatest and best gifts and graces (the higher gifts and the choicest graces). And yet I will show you a still more excellent way [one that is better by far and the highest of them all--love].

  • We can only be part of the Body of Christ by being baptized into Jesus’ Body

  • The Body of Christ consists out of many parts with many functions

  • Body must not be in competition with one another

  • God has arranged it the way He saw fit

  • The Body has eyes, ears, hands, feet, a head, seemingly weaker parts and stronger parts

  • The Weaker received the greatest honor and endowments

  • God want us to desire and to cultivate the gifts of the Holy Spirit

Spiritual Endowments

1Cor 12:4 Now there are distinctive varieties and distributions of endowments (gifts, extraordinary powers distinguishing certain Christians, due to the power of divine grace operating in their souls by the Holy Spirit) and they vary, but the [Holy] Spirit remains the same. 5 And there are distinctive varieties of service and ministration, but it is the same Lord [Who is served]. 6 And there are distinctive varieties of operation [of working to accomplish things], but it is the same God Who inspires and energizes them all in all. 7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the [Holy] Spirit [the evidence, the spiritual illumination of the Spirit] for good and profit.

  • Distinctive Endowments of Extraordinary powers

  • God gives according to His Grace

  • Varieties of Service and ministration

  • Varieties of Operations

Different Ministries

  • We cannot compare with one another

  • God has a purpose with your life and wants to equip you accordingly.

  • Spiritual endowments is God given supernatural gifts or supernatural power

  • Services & Ministrations – Good works, Talents and how to accomplish them

  • With an Operation – Spiritual ability to do the work and to operate in the gifts God has given us.

Different Activities

  • Different Ministries can be done in different activities

  • Activities – The Different way of accomplishing the same purpose

  • Eg. People Orientated / Tasks Orientated (Teaching knowledge / Having empathy for the sick or the brokenhearted)

  • Passion for a certain type of need for the body (Children, Warfare, Prayer, Vision)

  • Focus on certain aspects of God’s character / Word (Love, Grace, Truth, The Calendar of God, End Time, Father’s Heart, Restoration)

  • All have a place in the body. Learn from one another. We need one another. We all have a piece of the puzzle

Being a Watchman

Hab 2:1  [OH, I know, I have been rash to talk out plainly this way to God!] I will [in my thinking] stand upon my post of observation and station myself on the tower or fortress, and will watch to see what He will say within me and what answer I will make [as His mouthpiece] to the perplexities of my complaint against Him.

  • We must learn to look into the Spirit like  watchmen

  • “What you see is what you hear and what you hear is what you see!”

  • God speaks on the inside of us most of the time

  • We must cleans the veil over our hearts

  • We must cleans the soul

  • We will only see impart and imperfect until we are made perfect by the Love of God is Jesus Christ

The Spirit of Revelation

Eph 1:17  [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, 18  By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones),

  • Only God can give us Revelation

  • We must ask God for:

  • The Spirit of Revelation

  • The Spirit of Wisdom

  • Ask God to flood the eyes of our heart

Eyes / To See in the Spirit

God speaks through:

  • Visions

  • Dreams

2Ki 6:17 Then Elisha prayed, Lord, I pray You, open his eyes that he may see. And the Lord opened the young man's eyes, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

  • God open our spiritual eyes when we ask Him

Ears / To Hear in the Spirit

Job 36:9 Then He shows to them [the true character of] their deeds and their transgressions, that they have acted arrogantly [with presumption and self-sufficiency]. 10 He also opens their ears to instruction and discipline, and commands that they return from iniquity.

Isa 30:20 And though the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide Himself any more, but your eyes will constantly behold your Teacher. 21And your ears will hear a word behind you, saying: “This is the way; walk in it, when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left.”

  • God will speak with a still and gentle voice

Feel / Perceive in the Spirit

Mat 11:15  He who has ears to hear, let him be listening and let him consider and perceive and comprehend by hearing.

  • Jesus said this after every parable

  • We must look at things spiritually not only literally

  • We must learn to hear with the Spirit and with the spiritual ears not only the physical ears

  • To Perceive is to know – “A Knowing”

Mat 13:14  In them indeed is the process of fulfillment of the prophecy of Isaiah, which says: You shall indeed hear and hear but never grasp and understand; and you shall indeed look and look but never see and perceive. 15  For this nation's heart has grown gross (fat and dull), and their ears heavy and difficult of hearing, and their eyes they have tightly closed, lest they see and perceive with their eyes, and hear and comprehend the sense with their ears, and grasp and understand with their heart, and turn and I should heal them. [Isa. 6:9, 10.]

  • We must learn to listen with the ears and the eyes of our hearts

  • We must judge not by what we see or hear, but with or by the Spirit.

Mat 16:6 Jesus said to them, Be careful and on your guard against the leaven (ferment) of the Pharisees and Sadducees. 7 And they reasoned among themselves about it, saying, It is because we did not bring any bread. 8 But Jesus, aware of this, asked, Why are you discussing among yourselves the fact that you have no bread? O you [men, how little trust you have in Me, how] little faith! 9 Do you not yet discern (perceive and understand)? Do you not remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many [small hand] baskets you gathered?

  • We must not look at things outwardly only

  • Faith = The ability to see the unseen

  • To See is to know is to perceive

  • “To know that you know that you know”

Joh 17:3  And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent.

  • We know when the Spirit of God is among us.

  • To Experience the Anointing

  • Jesus Christ = The Anointed

Mar 2:8 And at once Jesus, becoming fully aware in His spirit that they thus debated within themselves, said to them, Why do you argue (debate, reason) about all this in your hearts?

Mat 12:25 And knowing their thoughts, He said to them, Any kingdom that is divided against itself is being brought to desolation and laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will last or continue to stand.

Joh 6:61  But Jesus, knowing within Himself that His disciples were complaining and protesting and grumbling about it, said to them: Is this a stumbling block and an offense to you? [Does this upset and displease and shock and scandalize you?]

  • Jesus knew in His Spirit what they were thinking

Joh 2:24  But Jesus [for His part] did not trust Himself to them, because He knew all [men]; 25  And He did not need anyone to bear witness concerning man [needed no evidence from anyone about men], for He Himself knew what was in human nature. [He could read men's hearts.] [I Sam. 16:7.]

  • Jesus could see into the hearts of men.

  • God knows all so Jesus knew all because of the Father

  • If we are in the Father and in His Love we to will be able to know, perceive and understand what is in men’s hearts

Personal Experience in Feeling / Perceiving in the Spirit

  • We must be cleansed of other things to hear clearer – Inner healing / Deliverance

  • A Velvet feeling in the heart / Flow / Peace / In the Love of God

  • God’s Presence can be experienced / sensed = Yes – NB!! Timing

  • Discernment of Spirits = Which spirits – Good and bad

  • Discernment = When to do something

  • A Check in the Spirit

  • All based on your personal knowledge of Jesus Christ and the Word of God

  • Based on your faith

  • God can use anything we allow Him to use

  • Normally:

    • A Vision

    • Scripture

    • A Sense

    • An Emotion / Feeling

    • A Word

    • A Thought

    • “A Knowing”

To Smell in the Spirit

  • The Incense coming out of the television

  • The Smell in my hands

  • Smell of roses

  • Smell of demons / Devils

  • The Smell of Rain – Spiritual rain

All Things are possible

Luke 1:37  For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.

  • NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE for GOD

  • If GOD said so IT WILL BE SO

  • Do you believe it!

Mat 17:20 He said to them, Because of the littleness of your faith [that is, your lack of firmly relying trust]. For truly I say to you, if you have faith [that is living] like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to yonder place, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.

  • We must believe the word of God

  • We can not see the Spiritual without faith

  • Nothing will then be impossible

According to your Faith

Eph 3:20  Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]–

Eph 3:20  Now to the One being able above all [things] to do infinitely more than what we ask or think, according to the power, the [one] supernaturally working in us,

  • God can only do what we allow Him to do through us

  • His power is infinite but we allow him to work through our faith

Mat 9:28  When He reached the house and went in, the blind men came to Him, and Jesus said to them, Do you believe that I am able to do this? They said to Him, Yes, Lord. 29  Then He touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith and trust and reliance [on the power invested in Me] be it done to you; 30  And their eyes were opened. And Jesus earnestly and sternly charged them, See that you let no one know about this.

  • Nothing is impossible for God

  • He can only do according to our faith & trust in Him

Practical

Dreams and Visions:

  • Begin to keep a simple journal of what you have dreamt – write it down immediately when you wake-up had for you

  • Share a dream with one another which you had that was very significant to you

    • Pray and ask God for the interpretation of the dream

Excising your spiritual senses:

  • Worship and focus on Jesus Christ and the Love He had for you

    • Learn to become still so that you can listen to the Voice of God

  • When you are still and completely surrendered ask God to open your spiritual senses

    • Begin to look in the spirit – the prophets lifted up their eyes

(Do not try to look with your physical eyes capabilities)

(Look with you inner eyes or spiritual eyes)

  • Begin to listen in the spirit – The Word of the Lord came

(Do not try to look with your physical eyes capabilities)

(Look with you inner eyes or spiritual eyes)

  • Begin to feel or perceive with the spirit – Jesus knew IN Himself

(Do not try to feel with your physical body or skin)

(Feel with your body or spiritual body)

  • Become more sensitive to things that you are perceiving and experiencing when you worship and pray

    • Do not automatically assume that everything you experience in or on your body is physical
